Brief History on Buddhism and Yoga

Buddhism and yoga have been practiced from the past. People from ancient times were using yoga in order to increase a strength of their mind and body. The main purpose of yoga and many other techniques is to make the mind strong so that all types of situations could be handled for getting the best results. In past, only some techniques were known. Those techniques were giving good results and the followers were using them without making any changes.

With the passage of time many types of changes are also introduced in old practices and now the current form of yoga is very vast. Yoga is dealing with a body of a person with the main focus on mind and heart. All the parts of the body are involved in any yoga act but the mind is to be peaceful and heart is to be strong. The strength of all the parts of the body could be obtained with the help of yoga. Many books were written on yoga and Buddhism in past which show that the roots of these practices are very deep. Many authors have got a lot of admiration due to their deep knowledge and explanation of yoga acts with details.

Buddhism started through Buddha who was in a company of many other masters in yoga and the like techniques. Ancient research on yoga and Buddhism is also translated in different languages so that people could understand and get benefits. People with Vedic and Magadha origin were not in favor of such thoughts. Magadha and Brahma people were different at that time.

Start of Buddhism

Buddhism gain fame with time and spread with great speed in surrounding areas. Many cultures adopted Buddhism by considering the strange powers and influences. There are many thoughts and concepts related to the history of yoga. The civilization of Indus Valley from 2600 – 1900 BCE and the related era is mostly connected with the start of yoga. Yoga started in past but people in the west started to adopt and use it in 19 century. Different cultures using yoga were also highlighted when yoga was adopted in the Western culture.

Start of yoga

There are many thoughts about the origin of yoga. Some say that yoga started before the time of Vedic. Some people think that it is found that many people in the civilization of Indus valley were using postures as used in yoga so that origin is related to that time. Such thoughts are rejected through some recent researches. Some people say that yoga is related to a north eastern side of India before 500 BCE. Vedic civilization gave many new things to people and there was a big change in life styles. Priests and Vedas were using special positions during their routine activities which are also related to yoga. This was the time related with 1500 – 500 BCE.

All these details show that yoga and Buddhism have very deep past. People started to practice these states in order to make their minds strong. In past, these practices were related to religious actions and priests were using them for inner peace and guidance of their followers. Now Buddhism and yoga are used all over the world in different forms.
